    Questions people ask

Why is my profit so much lower than the sale price?
Because four things come out of every sale: what you paid for the item, the platform fee, the payment fee, and shipping when you offer it free. On a $40 sale those can take $30 or more. The number that matters is what you keep, not what you sold for.
Margin or return on cost, which one should I look at?
Margin tells you how much of the sale price you keep. Return on cost tells you how hard your money worked. A $3 profit on a $40 sale is a 7.5% margin, thin. The same $3 on a $2 thrift find is a great return. Look at both.
How do I handle a lot, a bundle I bought for one price?
Split the lot price across the items, then treat each item as its own purchase. The full Reseller Profit Tracker does this split for you and follows each item until it sells.
Does the full tracker do more than this page?
Yes. It keeps up to 200 items, computes the profit of each sale after every fee, totals profit by platform, splits lot costs, and flags items sitting unsold for over 90 days. It works in Excel and Google Sheets.
